This week several of our members participated in a door-to-door canvass in support of the Boise for Clean Water and Open Space levy election. Our Field Director Zach Reider and President of the IDYD High School Caucus Canwen Xu organized the event for 4 of our high school chapters in the Treasure Valley. The event featured two State Representatives: Ilana Rubel (D-Boise) and Melissa Wintrow (D-Boise)
The canvassing event was designed to give high school students on-the-ground experience in the most valuable tactic in any campaign’s playbook: door-to-door canvassing. The event was a huge success and our high schoolers knocked on over 400 doors in one day. They identified dozens of supporters and even collected some donations for the campaign.
We hope to do many more events like these in the future to engage more Young Democrats. This kind of grassroots effort to speak to voters face-to-face about the issues is what is going to move Idaho in the right direction. Nothing can beat the personal connections that volunteers make with voters at their door. With a personal touch from one of our many passionate young activists, we can continue to make our state a little more blue.
Thank you once again for supporting the future of the Idaho Democratic Party.
